The end of Season 1 did have Hopper leaving waffles behind for Eleven, I can't imagine that he'd just simply do it unless he knew she was still alive - that and she appears in the S2 trailer so looks like she definitely did survive

Hopper became Lando Calrissian, and I don't know whether saving Will would be enough to restore the kids' faith in him.

i know he's most likely dead but from the first season, it seemed like Eleven had a soft spot for him. Would like to see their story developed more even though he's a villian.

I second this, I really did like the way they set up Dr. Martin Brenner as a character and would have liked to have seen more scenes with him. If he's in Season 2 it'll be a treat!

Noooo, it's actually pretty good! Have you watched it?  

I agree with Bram. I saw all of season 1, liked it, and I'm going to watch season 2, but I kept hearing it was the best show ever and it's far from it. It was interesting, and I definitely have to give the show props for making a show interesting with 4 12 year olds as the main characters. It actually took me 3 or 4 episodes (I forget which one) to actually hook me into finishing the season. I almost gave up after the first 2-3 episodes and told a friend that it was slow & boring but he said it gets better so I trudged on and finally found the plot hook. It's an averagely good show that I hope can improve with season 2.

I always watch the first few episodes before deciding whether I keep watching or start watching something else so I never had a problem with finding the 'hook'. I know what you mean about it being overrated, it definitely blew up to be a big show, bigger than what I think they originally expected it to be. In my opinion, I think it's 'up there' in terms of quality. It progressed fast enough for you to feel like the story was developing but not so fast that there were parts where nothing was happening and they had to put 'filler' content in. What I'm worried about is whether the popularity of Stranger Things could affect the quality of the story for season 2 and whether they simplify it to make it easier for a 'broader audience'. Wouldn't want that happening =/

What he said. The movie's acting for a bunch of 12 year old boys is really good, considering for all of them it is their first big acting parts besides being in the background or have 1 line in other shows and movies. I can see Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) going far in the industry. But I think having Winona Ryder on it really helped it capture the 80's feel. Plus the soundtrack takes a lot of inspiration from Vangelis.
