Computer science is one of the safest majors, if you enjoy it then get into it

I got a programming paid internship as a computer science major. My full-time co-workers make anywhere around $40-60 an hour. Which is probably more than your dad makes. |

Don't go to law school unless you really want it, it'll be hell otherwise. That's all I can tell. There's a lot of last resort people here and they're not doing so well. Choose something you're passionate about. |

Do computer engineering. It's the only fun major and you get fun jobs. Sent from my SM-N920R7 using Tapatalk |

The engineers will make good money in any field, though the managers of any high-end field are easily making more. This goes hand-in-hand with your interest in business so I'd throw in a business management minor in there if this interests you. Strong managers are extinguishing in today's world as far as I can tell, but in the way that it's extremely helpful for anyone interested. A lot of this can depend on personality though. I'be signed a 6 year contract with the Navy for AECF(Adavanced Electronics Computer Field). Depending on how that is I might stay in, who knows. Either way I'm wanting to get a degree in electrical engineering with a management minor. |

It's good to know what you want to study. Just note, you aren't going to be a computer science major the whole time. Life can change directions more often than you think, and with that extra business major, you'll be highly welcomed. Your father just wants what he thinks is best for you. If you enjoy what you will major in, and be successful as well, then he will realize you made the right choice, eventually. By the way, are you sure you aren't mixing up Systems/Software Engineering with Computer Science? Just in case ... Here are some explanations of the difference in each field. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering? |

Do comp sci major if u really wanna do it lol. Even if ur comp education isnt that gud, you'll still get a job somewhere cuz no one wanna do the comp jobs. Demand for those ppl are HIGH. You'll get hired somewhere, even down at the dumps for 69 dollars an hour

My best advice would be to study what you're passionate about. First semester this year I was a chemistry major and I legit wanted to die like eveey day. Now i'm apparel merchandising and design (fashion) and i'm happy as can be.
