a basic FPS engine i made
http://www.mediafire.com/?qv1gbaexexkcr1q W- Move forward S- Move Backward Mouse - Look around Still in progress but its very basic. It only contains moving the mouse, the 3D gun, and the wall/floor/ceiling/block/collision objects. You can't shoot yet.. Basically, i was trying to work on 3D sections for a game im working on called Crystarium so i looked up a few interesting videos and such then i started to work on this so i could get a focus of how the 3D engine works.. I would've added a couple of other things but for now im working on something else at the moment.. This is optional but if you would like to see what i've done... Feel free to download.. its only like 3MB |

That is correct ![]() Thats not true. There has been plenty of Game maker projects entirely made from top to bottom.. Or in your case, if you don't like to put effort: Go online, steal plenty of game maker projects, and re-arrange them to your own liking... Something that i recommend not doing... Because you need to know every variable and every function you're inserting into... or else you're not going to know why theres a glitch, error, or random bug in your game.. why something you're trying to make doesn't go correctly as you wanted it to be... or why the program crashed and may become unplayable.. Game maker is like C++ but is somewhat more simplified.. I made the FPS engine through a tutorial video i found on the internet... It was only to learn how the 3d engine works.. since i've been only coding 2D games since i was eleven years old.. Theres also a drag-n-drop option but that has limitations... So trying to say that Game maker projects can't be done scratch is incorrect and there has been plenty of Game maker projects which have been made from scratch.. though i did make this though the help of a tutorial.. Thats like saying that every video game is never made from scratch... Because Batman Arkham city uses the unreal engine and Battlefield 3 uses the frostbite engine.. its not the engine thats scratch.. but the game on top of the engine which is.. This post not a direct insult or offense to you but there are game maker projects that have been created from scratch. |
