You continue living your life with your safety and future in the hands of the government, and I will continue living mine by thinking about my safety as a individual. This is simply a classic example of cultural differences and beliefs. I live in the deep south (Georgia). We love people and we have an intellectual society, but we grow up to be more critical of the government and to fight for much more individual rights and protection laws. (big on gun protection laws). We have many hobbies that are survivalist based such as hunting, fishing, and farming. We even have giant shops that outfit you with pretty much everything you need from head to toe (bass pro shops, cabellas). Rednecks everywhere and some are pretty damn reckless and stupid. Lots of us get used to having to protect our neighborhoods and homes (instead of relying on police) from crazies, so we are more on-guard. Other states that have more urban areas are more used to not having much of an option to "get away". Living spaces are much more together. People tend to grow up thinking more as a group and trusting the system more. They have spent their entire life growing up in an urban community area, so of course they are going to be influenced by the people they grow up around. And, hint, people in urban areas like this are much less likely to have any survival plans. Therefore, in conclusion, these people will not understand the concept of providing for yourself without relying on others. They don't grow up with anybody who believes in stuff like that. Meanwhile, I have grown up with people like that since I am very young. And these people are very smart. Many with college degrees and having major professions |
