Sounds like you misunderstood. You still have the gifts (and it tells you this every time you enter your house if I'm not mistaken), but only a certain number of them are being displayed.

Yeah it's looking like there's something amiss with gifts this time.
They're not getting delivered accurately. I had a set of them off to the side in my house, just received several messages that new ones were sent and they are not reflecting.

I have fewer than 50, as well.

I am the God of Lag. Ask anyone to ever spar me.
With this new found ability of mine, I will obliterate
and lag that comes to graal until the 26th of December.
But, this comes with a cost, I must have 100 gifts first.
I currently have a grand total of 9 gifts, gift me to get rid of lag.
