Now, you would have come across articles talking about how the people of lybia forced many of the militia that are linked with terrorism out and prostested for them to be disbanded. The death of Chris Stevens on the embassy was obviously a result of an organized attack.(if you dont think so...). Also, most of the protests around the world are small and calm. All the violence, burning and destruction gives a bad reputation and message to the reglion of islam which is why most of the religious leaders are calling for peaceful protests. If you look at it, the majority of people causing the violence are mostly extremists, anti-american, troublemakers, or not very educated . Not only that, most of the people in the middle east dont have that net of freedom that we have in the united states. They cant even comprehend how a video like that could be posted on the internet because the majority of the times, the things they post, are filtered by the goverment. Which is why most of them think that the goverment of the united states showed it on a "state run" television network. This lack of knowledge of the rights and freedom of speech in the U.S. is why there is so much violence.Terrorist groups/extremists such as Al quaeda, use this as fuel to create an anti-american mindset. Saying that we should get our troops out of there before its too late is kind of naive. No Offence. The soldiers in Afganistan face the same amount of dangers before this video was released. If you think about it, pulling out because of this shows weakness. It will undo all the work of trying to establish peace, helping and training the security forces in Afganistan to defend for themselves. Countries like Lybia and Egypt are still trying to rebuild post-revolution and will need help from the U.S. and western countries in order to be sucessful. If you forgot, the U.S. is the "world's police" and these countries need them more than ever. In my opinion, we should be keeping our eye on Iran and Israel. And if the situation between China and Japan gets violent as well as Iran and Israel, there will be some serious s**t coming. But thats an opinon and i could be wrong |

They believe it's okay to kill to protect their religion. Sort of like the crusades, meaning their religion is easily twisted to show that commuting jihad is your duty to protect the prophet and god. Any religion that starts religious wars Is dangerous. So that's most religions.. |

You misunderstood what I was saying. I meant that I have done plenty of research myself, and you telling me to do even more does not accomplish anything besides making it appear like you think you're more educated on the subject. Everything you just said I already knew and was in line with what I was saying besides the Afghanistan part. "Saying that we should get our troops out of there before its too late is kind of naive. No Offence. The soldiers in Afganistan face the same amount of dangers before this video was released. " How is this naive? I don't take any offence because your argument does not make any sense. The situation with Afghanistan, be it already bad regardless of the video, has no where but down to go from here. That was the point. We lost, the people we were fighting for are fighting against us now. The only reason we are still there is for oil, if you think about it. Why didn't we help Darfur? Rwanda? No oil. Regardless even if we are still fighting for peace, Afghan soldiers supposedly on our side killed NATO troops, apparently there have also been much more of these attacks than the numbers say right now. Not to mention the suicide bombings killing many Americans recently. We need to get out of Afghanistan because the people we were fighting for are now against us, regardless of the video's impact. That is just even more bad news that supports this idea. That is all I was saying before. As for the weakness, we already pulled out of Iraq. |

Im not trying to sound more educated than you when i said you should do more research. I misunderstood when you followed up your comment about the protests with how ur worried about the troops in afganistan and how if we dont pull out there will be "no way out". That why i explained later the fact i dont think this situation will explode to the point that there is no way to pull out the troops. which is why i thought that was funny. All of the attacks where men who posed as police but were infact taliban. My point is that The U.S shouldnt distance itself from the middle east. as you know countries like Lybia and Egypt will need help from the U.S to establish their goverments and economies fully. But i truly believe and you may disagree, that we should countinue to train the local military for a few more years to give them a chance to fight for themselves. yes most troops should be withdrawn but its good to keep some to help. |
