I did too in my LeafGreen. Got very lucky on that file. Shiny Meowth (by Celadon) and Raticate (Pokemon Mansion).

I caught a shiny gyarados.

Some things that bothered me in the first episode

about the brock thing, they modeled the special after the actual games. Brock only uses 2 pokemon in the game.

What? Dude, nidoran comes wild in viridian forest, what are you talking about?

Super excited for the english version of Origins, its alot more mature and a bit more dark than the mainstream anime, and I really wanna see if theres anything new thats brought in on the translation (probably not).

On my first playthrough of fire red at age 7, I caught a nidoran and got it double kick within a minute and a half, then kicked brocks butt. I one hitted onix with it

if anything reds nidoran is a bit lacking!

You can get a Nidoran in the grass going towards the Pokemon League.

See some flaws in the series, but it's far better than Ash. Though, I feel they lack detail in the show.

The first episode felt rushed to me, the battles were lacking depth, and anticipation. Edit: ok, what the hell. A minute into episode 2 and they skipped a ton, he has 3 badges now, tf?

Not supposed be long or add every key feature of the game. It has 4 damn episodes for gods sake, doesn't that give you a hint that they want to rush it?

What I'd Like to see is GameFreak/Nintendo making an anime series following the characters of all the games, with a new character each season. Thatd be cool cause they could go in depth and maybe even add some story to the hoenn and sinnoh games?

What do you guys think? Would it be cool if they made a similar anime series to origins about the protagonists of games like Gold, Emerald, Platinum, etc. ?

His screaming shouldn't have lasted that long and it was just awkward and off-putting. Also he gets a badge when Brock only uses 2/6 of his Pokemon? Cheap! And that's after the fact that his Nidoran that he just caught takes out 90% of Onyx's health in one hit. despite those minor qualms this anime is already 10x better than Ash's.
