ask yourself: what makes you happy? then try adding this into your life. don't be scared of a possible negative outcome, we all have to accept failure and continue until we get the outcome we want. don't focus on the past. the past is in the past, thinking about it will only hurt you more and will not change anything. deal with the situation you currently find yourself in and try to improve it. me: i went through a really tough time in my life when my parents were getting divorced, i don't let that bother me anymore and try to find happiness in the only two things i like in this world (rap music and social interactions). now i'm doing great and really enjoying my life, couldn't ask for much more. |

But, I suggest talking to close friends and family, as they will most likely make you feel hopeful about yourself. |

@thread and topic everyone gets/has had depression at some point in there life if its either being lonely/midlife crisis/death/etcetc ..now this might sound abit straight up but for times for me when I've felt bit down/depressed I've noticed alot of it in my part is self-inflicted.. what if.. why they go and not ask me?.. why don't i fit in.. (questions ive asked myself when i was kid)..Well really most of these for me is because I'm realitively shy(dont get me wrong I speak up/have opinions when needed but never really chat much/only to certain people) So anyways for me it was like 'get yourself out there' I thought stuff like i dont fit in etc but thats part of learning and helping yourself, I have friends (but they like divided groups-odd to explain) but I hear on this thread people not having any/they far away, My point to you guys is even if you don't usually do something with someone, try it.. i.e your cousin or fam are going out(lets say you usually stay in) why don't you just go with them, this is how you first start meeting others, thats when you can start making plans 'hey I listen to that band too they playing here, you fancy going?' etcetc (The more you live out interacting with people the harder it'll become for you) Also find a hobby(not gaming/away from the world) something that you enjoy but other people are there doing aswell |

But I did not start a religious debate, I could give you dozens of articles on this subject and we could be posting 1000 pages a day but this thread is not about that so I suggest you make your own thread on that topic |

Its not about Jesus, its about the community inside the Church. Instead of asking advice from hooligans, try asking from a better person, such as people who works at Church or priests. They will always hear your problem, and even if you aren't part of them, neither do they care, they just want to help.

Most people who go to church will be willing to help you or give you advice. |

This whole church thing is all opinions and will differ from person to person. So stop. I never though church was helpful. I would go because my girlfriend would only be allowed to see me and hang out with me afterward if i would go to church with her first (this was several years ago lol). It was f***ing weird. One day, our youth group merged with the little kids youth group and there was this christian concert in the main church auditorium. The music was cool, pretty rock. Afterwards, this guy came on to talk about hell. He told us and all the little innocent children about his best friend. His best friend was severely injured in Iraq and had third degree burns all over his body. He was telling us how painful emotionally and physically it is the that solider. He then told us if we don't submit ourselves to jesus that individual day that we would feel those burns for eternity in hell. Needless to say, many of the brainwashed children did exactly what he said. It was literally the biggest brainwashing I have EVER seen in my life. I was infuriated. Getting children all in a room together without their guardians, and scaring them into believing what you believe. I was not comforted by this church. This argument is invalid. Lets move on. And all the people saying it is all about the community, religious people can be and are usually (imo) the most judgemental people you can find. Their advice will be distorted by what is perceived as sin. And remember, no matter what, bang that girl and don't worry bout no sin. Just worry bout stds |

Its all about looking on the positive side of things instead of speaking about hell and burning for eternity. |

Honestly, it seems like a lot of the people who post here about feeling depressed or sad just seem pretty introverted and lonely. It's not a bad thing, but being alone doesn't always feel good. That said, it's hard to push yourself outside your comfort zone and meet new people but it's a really healthy thing to do and will probably make you a lot happier in the long run. i am not doctor tho who knows |
