Yes this story is sad, but if the killer really was autistic then you can't exactly blame him fully. That sounds terrible, but it is true, their minds work differently. I am saddened by this story, but I hope that it shines light on the fact that maybe these people do need places to stay in which they are monitored and watched over so things like this does not happen.

It depends on how autistic he was. Are we talking aspergers? Is he able to support himself independently? Its a pretty slippery slope defining autism and what level impairs the individual enough for it to be an issue. This man obviously was not severely autistic as he had the ability to purchase weaponry and access a large amount of ammunition. In other words he had the ability to plan for the future. Generally I would be fine with sending those with severe autism to a mental institution after their parents die, sort of like a retirement home. I cannot though see tearing families apart, or just defining if they should be in a mental institution, a valid option at all. It is basically impossible. And definitely not worth the risk.

This is what video games do to you, or in other words, media is corrupt, influencing your mind. The man didn't achieve anything my killing innocent people, all he did was affect his after life.

I have no reason to "pray". I don't believe in supernatural beings. It's kind of funny you bring that up, what kind of a god allows children to die in such a way to begin with?

You people on these forums..
This world would be way different if everyone was invincible,don't expect everything to be alright,of course the world ain't perfect but you people don't have to **** with other people's religion just because something didn't go right. Not trying to be mean when the topic is a horrible crisis,but space needs to be made for new lives,but to add,those childrens lives shouldn't have been tooken,they were innocent kids who barely lived out a decade of their lives.  

There's no doubt that what happened today is a tragedy. But the question is what do we do now. Do we stay in our homes and ask ourselves why? Or should we get our facts straight and then learn from what happened and then educate ourselves on what we can do to prevent something like this from happening again. What actions should take place are not for me to say, that's for you all as individuals to come to a consensus and agree upon. My thoughts and prayers are on the families of those affected by today's events.

There's a difference between it being reported and it being plastered all over the media. Everytime something like this happens, the same article and the same name(s) get printed all over the place. **** like this is what makes some of these psychos do what they do. Notice the rise in these occassions after Columbine? Notice how two shootings were inspired/motivated by Columbine?

Don't turn this into a religious or political rage debate, 20 kids 7 adults , 27 innocent people total where killed. Less than 2 weeks before Christmas.

You americans need to stop voting for obama, he makes guns legal and thats probably why your country is so violent and horrific. romney is 10 times better than that obama dude, he probably would have been reasonable and made guns illegal and made smoking in public places illegal, I've been to america it smells like pot, and theres crime every minute. SOLUTION: move to a better place like canada, vote for romney or hide in a box.

Romney was a smooth talker and that's it.
You must've been to a strange place, because I live in California and I don't smell weed here. There's crime every minute in Canada too, so don't try to use that argument against us 'muricans.

Humans are disgusting,from flesh eating zombies to people going around killing innocent souls i see what this is leading to.
I personally would rather live in a jungle filled with wild animals atleast these animals once you get them used to you they wont backstab nor harm you.
