I think people are confused about how the US government works. It is a democracy. The government of the US doesn't make laws that it thinks needs to be made based on data and general need. It makes laws based on what the people want through elected representatives. Gun control can be done. The sale of guns can be restricted, and ownership can require stricter screening and licensing. However, guns cannot be made illegal. That will NEVER happen in the United States. The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The peoples' right to have weapons is protected by the US Constitution. Also, the argument with teachers having guns isn't the government seeking an answer to school shootings and coming up with giving teachers guns. It's teachers requesting permission to carry personal fire arms to protect themselves and their students, and, tbh, I don't support it. Shooting someone is not an easy decision, and I wouldn't want anyone to feel obligated to have to own a gun and worry about needing to shoot someone. I also don't want anyone to resort to shooting someone when there are other means to prevent those situations. However, I opt not to vote, so I do not get upset or defensive when people disagree with me on these subjects because I don't put my say into it.

If the gov. ever tried to take guns away from everyone, I guaruntee that dozens of cops will be shot on the day they try to collect them. People would rather die than give up their guns. Illegalizing all guns shouldn't even be a discussion. The 2nd amendment was made so that we (the people) can protect ourselves from a corrupt or oppressive government. Don't ya think that gov. taking our protection away is the exact reason we are allowed to have guns in the first place? |

Lol. Show me where I said that. Pretty much every single post I've made on this thread has said that I believe there are major issues with gun control today. http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/20/politi...s-nra-orlando/ |

Wat? How? Don't think anyone knows I have a gun, not everyone who owns a handgun is a Confederate flag-waving redneck or anything I feel like saying "it isn't too hard to find out which houses carry firearms" only reinforces the notion that everyone should probably own one |
