Could have fooled me, reception has been horrible. I've been tweaking them since release, but beyond the original bugs(like the invincible on gmap) players are having a hard time. Many are used to the glitches of the old ones, and ride into the Pyrat caves on their horse and hit 10 pyrats and are surprised when they kill them(I think there is a glitch with the old baddies that made them very easy to kill while on a horse). I've had to tweak them substantially. They're now much slower, attack slower, don't swarm players in massive groups unless attacked. I also had to add another Pyrat cave and gave Pyrats a small chance of dropping an additional eyepatch. Negative feedback has died down but it's still hard to tell if players are content with the change. Hopefully players will learn to adapt to the smarter baddies(using a horse and attacking 10 Pyrats is not a good plan. Neither is standing in the same spot swinging mindlessly). They're much easier to hit than their counterparts and I've playtested the hell out of them personally on my PC, iPad and Android phone and find them much more enjoyable to fight than the older ones. I feel like the players grinding the Pyrat quest aren't looking for fun, but rather the gralats in the quickest and easiest way possible. Even if players are not happy with the change, they've been running for the past 3 hours and are at least functioning relatively bug-free. If demand is great enough I'll revert them back, but at least I got the bug-testing done and they are in good enough condition to be used in the railroads. |

They have a very small window of invulnerability when they take damage to stop players from just spam-killing them very easily. It's much easier if you treat them like players and move around them as you attack. Also a lot of players report "teleporting." It's sadly just lag. I have done as much as I could do to counter the lag and sometimes they just might teleport a bit as their movement is updated. |
