If you throw a bush it should, but bombs do not do damage(nor did they in their older versions).

It should count, ya... but it can be finicky in its collision. Did the jar just go through it, or did it break on the baddy? It only counts as being hit if the jar/bush actually breaks.  

If you stay on the same spot swinging your sword baddies won't damage you when hitting.
However, I like the 0.25 damage.

I agree with Ash, but also sometimes when you get a baddie to 0.5, and then hit it with your sword it will do 0.25 damage instead, although this has only happened about five times for me

i thought you meant that pyrates freak out and start spitting rocks everywhere
