Just to add a new discussion topic, Say that the entire world IS engulfed in a new world war, which countries do you think have the best chance of surviving? What would happen to the world, would the Age of the Internet end?

I'm not sure about it, America would likely fall and Europe is a lot weaker without us. I honestly think Japan would have a chance of survival with their somewhat advanced technology, I'd say they would be able to survive fairly long, unless they got nuked. In that case you can kiss goodbye to Pokemon and almost all your favorite animes. If you have a counter argument or correction to my logic, please tell, I'm probably not fully informed on the state of the world and would love to know the facts, or what you guys think the facts are.

I think that America and the Russians would definitely be crippled (read:nuke-hammered into the ground) with many other technologically notable countries following suit (E.g. Japan (China and Japan have been staring each other down for centuries), China maybe, the whole of Europe, and here are there around other places.)

Other things: Oceanic countries and South America survive with least damage (Major cities still nuked btw)(Australia would definitely have a ground war with some other islands in the Pacfic, because we have lots of natural resources, while South America has a ground war too with pro-America countries going against pro-Russia countries) because they would be the least of concerns, I mean who the hell would target some large island in the middle of nowhere or South America (We do need burritos in the apocalypse, right?), and North Korea gets wiped out by it's own nukes running out of fuel and coming back down on them.  

The thick ash of the bombs will cover Earth and in turn temperatures will plummet. Radiation will pollute water supplies and food sources. I'd feel bad for anyone who survived a nuclear war.

burritos are an american thing as in north not south. Oil tycoons would target venezuela in south america to get their hands on more oil 0.0

For a second i thought you were under the impression that mexico was in south america

I believe North Korea would 'win' WWIII, as the other countries would be occupied with bashing each other. As childish as this sounds, NK would be able to bomb and destroy anyone who may invade. The people may be starving but NK has a powerful defense and offense. They are allied with a few other countries (not too sure who) and though the leader seems to be stupid, he has a chance of winning.
Similarly to Infernus, I don't feel fully informed about the state of the world, so feel free to contradict or correct me.

While I agree that we (Australia) have many resources that are desirable for other countries, I disagree. The only possible threat to us would be Singapore, as it's wealthy. New Zealand is also a possible threat but I don't believe NZ would engage in conflict with us. The other countries surrounding Australia, are well, too poor to attack us. They don't have as much military power as us and they couldn't risk it financially.  

Wealth, Resources, Allies... etc...doesnt matter when youre talking about Nuclear War/WWIII because everything will be decimated in the blink of an eye. Meaning no one would win and everyone would lose. Watch the movie "WarGames" and youll understand why no one can win. Its a good movie too =P but dont watch the recent one cuz it sux.

NK is under control

I believe the U.S. is only in Japan and other 'allied' countries near there for strategic purposes. It actually benefits both countries whether japan likes it or not.

Good joke. The only people that could possibly be interested in invading North Korea would be China, Russia, or South Korea. No one else would bother sending troops there, just carpet bomb it. NK's people are too busy starving to actually fight against world class superpowers.
