I would seriously donate/farm an entire farm of black gralats+ to someone who reaches 1k, gives the guild to a noob account, kicks all the members and doesn't submit a hat. Or submit a mask that's literally head1.png copied over the hat file and to piss people off, make it a few pixels off. Just for lulz

that's the general attitude people on this forum have towards towerers anyway: "derp, you shouldn't be given a hat when you achieve something, just because I don't want you to have one, because I don't tower, because I don't like seeing other people get things"

the GIF-at-5k thing makes perfect sense, but anyone suggesting that hats and rewards be removed in general (as if it will somehow improve towering or this game as a whole) - it's a good thing they aren't staff

I'd have also suggested that staff charge more for GIF uploads for heads, shields, swords, and bodies, but it's tough for me to make that suggestion when I genuinely can't see how the revenue they make from packs is put towards improving the game

Just to show an example of how poisoned towering is.

Everyone is so used to getting a hat at 1k every month that if someone lead a guild to 1k just for fun and gave out no hat, it would confuse everyone. "omg no 1k hat?! WHAT? Did admins cancel that prize? Start a riot! Someone make a shield! Spam them! Send the leader countless 1k hats! Hurry! WE MUST HAVE A 1K HAT NOW. NOW. what sorcery is this?"

Exactly why they should just get rid of 1k hats completely and just ignore the month long riots. Seriously. If a leader of a guild just wants to lead a guild for fun to 1k, and the members still insist that there be a 1k hat, then kudos to him. I'm pretty sure more than half of the members already have more than five 1k hats.

good finally hat makers have a chance to make a normal ****ing hat. I'm sick of noob guilds getting 1k and asking for a hat that breathes out fire and electricty comes out of eyes and then turns rainbow and wings have to flap and the helmet has to shine. ****ing noobs. Thank you <3

what you're failing to understand is that receiving a hat in no way correlates with how much fun it is or isn't

your statement makes it seem like that, by rewarding someone, the "fun" is taken out of towering
it isn't, people are just materialistic and enjoy getting some sort of reward for their effort, and that's normal

it's as if you (and many others, so let's not make it seem as if I'm singling you out) truly believe that a tower guild can only have fun if they decide to not give out a hat
that makes absolutely 0 sense to me

that's such an inconsiderate thing to say though, slow down and think about it

the leader of the guild is a single person, and the guild itself is a single property that the leader owns
the leader's significance to the guild is obviously high, but no one can argue against the fact that it's the members who make a tower guild successful
if they will not put in work and tower, the guild does not reach it's goal

I just don't understand why it's apparently so wrong for members of the guild to want some sort of compensation and token of appreciation for their efforts
like, "hey bro, I came online every day and spent hours of my life putting time and effort into a guild that you own, the least you can do is give me a little hat as a way to show that you appreciated it"

TBH, I find it to be more poisonous to not reward them

also, important and related to this issue: I've had 2 GIF guild pics denied today for reason "inappropriate," so I'm thinking that GIF guild pics are also no longer being accepted  

I'm not sure why people complain over 1k hats, it doesn't even effect you any ways and it's a hat on a pixel game, if people want to collect them let them do it and move on with your life.

A guild hat is a nice symbolic representation of friendship, teamwork and dedication and people who spend their time to achieve that deserve one, and PNG hats can look better than any GIF hat if done correctly.

I think it has a lot to do with the implementation. Because guild hats are added to accounts, rather than guilds, it encourages all kinds of shady practices. Things like creating/throwing away guilds to get another set of 1k hats, or removing/adding members so friends and such get the hat instead of the guild members who achieved it.

Guilds as a whole need some major revamping. Things should be rewarded to the guilds themselves and not the player accounts. Maybe then players won't consider guilds so disposable.  

Thallen, although I agree that a guild can still have a 1k hat and have fun, the hat shouldn't be the main thing. If somebody is only in the guild for the hat, and nothing else, they should re-evaluate their scenario. I liked towering because it was a place to meet friends, talk, and have fun. What I'm saying is that you should not tower if you hate it, just to get a hat.

Dusty, the hat reward should honestly be 2.5k. Then maybe people wouldn't consider guilds disposable. When you think about it, recycled guilds still offer benefits. 5 1k guilds = 5 png hats, 125 people. 1 5k guild = 1 gif hat, 1 png hat, 75 people. I would rather have 4 extra PNG hats than one gif.

I agree with this so much, I was in two guilds both of which I had joined from in the start and me and a few others refused the 1k hats because of this sole reason, we didn't want to accept a reward that held no value to the guild.

I wish Classic had it's own system that could determine who the most active members were and distribute the hat based on that, the only time I would ever tower is if I knew the leader well and knew he wouldn't do stuff like that but even then I wouldn't actively tower with them just help every now and then because I saw it a waste.

I got a few tower hours my self with just 10 other close friends and we didn't recruit anyone to help us because we wanted it to actually hold value and these 10 members had joined well before we even considered towering.

I like Delteria's guild system because the rewards benefit the guild not players like you had suggested, as in it gives the guild certain bonuses and such as a reward for their dedication.
