Its their choice whether or not they would like to gift themselves something. I don't see any issue with that besides the bickering of others.

As I previously stated, the only problem about gifting yourself is the bickering of others as you are currently doing. It's their choice to determine if they want more. They don't need your consent or permission to do so.

Completely ruins the point of Christmas and gifting, but whatever, I guess you give yourself gifts in real life, too.

There is nothing wrong or selfish about giving yourself a gift on Christmas. If you're gifting yourself as well as being generous to gift others in the process, I don't see how it "ruins" Christmas. In reality, people gift themselves because it can provide health, protection, or enrichment to their life. Those are just examples but I could be wrong.

Yup, Christmas spirit and all that silly stuff. Next Christmas instead of getting my friends and family gifts I'm just going to get myself a bunch of stuff AND take their gifts. Because after all, I have that option to do so.

Doesn't neccessarily mean you have to gift someone with something that has a price tag. Isn't love and support enough if you can't afford a gift? Thought the best gift in life is family.
